Highlights of CBME China 2014

 

CBME China 2014 closes as a record breaker. 1,751 exhibitors representing 2,428 brands showcased their latest products across 166,680 square meters of exhibition space. 75,106 industry buyers attended the event. Here are some highlights of CBME China.

 

OEM/ODM Pavilions – 19 Chinese OEM/ODM suppliers formed this new pavilion, with more OEM/ODM suppliers at the show floor. Brand owners and buyers were able to find reliable manufacturers and good quality products made to their specifications at CBME China.

 

 

Interactive Car Seats Gallery – Here Baby First and Britax were giving live demonstration on their latest car seats. This also served as an educational platform wherein retails store owners and their personnel got hands-on training and gained industry know-how from manufacturers.

 

 

International PavilionsThis year International Pavilions at CBME China grew again as more brands from Australia, Korea, United Kingdom, United States, Spain, Taiwan and other countries were presenting products covering a range of children baby maternity products from healthcare products to food, strollers and toys, clothing and accessories and services.

 
Robert Anslow, British Products Associations (BPA) managing director, said: “I can honestly say that I had never seen such a large quantity of trade visitors at a show before – the stands were literally rammed with people from across Asia including China, Korea and Singapore from the time the doors opened at 9am until they closed at 5pm.This is the first time that the BPA staged a UK Pavilion at CBME China. We look forward to an even bigger UK Pavilion at CBME China next year.”
 

 

Licensing zone – Barbie, Thomas & friends, Doraemon, Despicable Me and more cartoon characters gathered at Licensing zone. This is where licensees can find new properties and brands and initiate licensing deals. Whether looking to spot trends, building strategic partnerships, securing promotional tie-ins or taking property worldwide – this is where it all happens.

 

 

CBME AWARDS Gallerythis is where visitors found not only the latest innovation in the industry, but they could also see who the movers and shakers of China’s baby products industry are. The CBME AWARDS Gallery featured the nominees for Lifetime Achievement Award, Top Retailer Awards, Top Brand Awards, the Innovative Products Awards and more.

 

Part to the CBME Awards Gallery, the Innovative Products Awards Gallery showcased the nominees for the latest product innovations in the industry. Originally conceived to encourage independent research and development on safer quality products for mothers and babies, the CBME Innovative Product Awards continues the tradition by providing a platform for inspiring innovative products meeting the highest industry standards. From over 100 entries received, top six per category were on display for visitors to view and vote for their favorite.

 

 

Cool Kids Fashion – China’s first trade event for kids’ fashion, opens its doors to fashion industry players at the same time with CBME China. Other activities include Trend Forums, Kids Fashion Shows, Fashion Designers Gallery, Kids Fashion Design Contest, Kids Fashion Museum and Private Networking Event. Cool Kids Fashion brings together world-renowned brands, designers, media and key players of children fashion in an exclusive on-trend ambiance.

 

Liang Shuyu, Asia Marketing Manager of Tutto Piccolo, said” Cool Kids Fashion is a very good international event. We need a platform like this for children’s fashion.”

 

 

CBME China Summit and Seminars – Visitors and exhibitors attending CBME China not only found new business partners and thousands of children, baby and maternity products, they also got an inside look at what’s happening in the industry through Children Baby Maternity Products Industry Summit and other industry seminars during CBME China 2014.

 

CBME China’s conference program aims to brand owners and buyers on conduct more efficient trade in the industry. The program provides a comprehensive source of information on China’s supply chain and features a broad range of hot topics from retail store management and operations to emerging market trends. 18 industry experts were invited to share their experience and insight. Over 3,000 visitors attended the conference program.

 

 

Private Buyer Meetings – To make sure volume buyers have a more efficient sourcing experience, Private Buyer Meetings, a business-matching service for high-volume buyers, were organized to help buyers meet with pre-selected qualified suppliers in a private setting to discuss sourcing requirements and make sourcing easier and more efficient. Over 100 business matching sessions were held in the business matching program including the leading chain stores for children baby and maternity products in China like Leyou Babies to Kids, MSH’s Pregnant Women & Baby, Baby Bear, the leading Chinese online retailers like Yihaodian and Jingdong Mall, supermarkets and shopping malls like RT-Mart, Suning, Vanguard and WU Mart. Participating overseas companies include Nishimatsuya, the top baby products chain store with over 850 retail stores in Japan; windeln.de GmbH, the popular online retailer in Germany: Kids Travel, Inc, online retailer from Korea and more.

 

As Nikola Kellhammer, Promotion Manager of Windeln.de commented, “It is our first time to attend Private Buyer Meetings Program, which is very well organized and very helpful. We meet with suppliers one by one as pre-arranged by organizer according to my sourcing needs. It is much more efficient than looking for them at the show floor.”
