The world’s largest toy manufacturer is to transfer its production from to Brazil and India
Lisa McKnight of the group’s North America division revealed the move at the recent Toy Fair in New York.
The move is driven by an increase in costs in China, Lisa revealed: “The decision is fundamentally a result of efficiency issues as we will continue to manufacture in china.”
The Mattel group manufactures 74 percent of its products in China and the remainder in Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico and Thailand.
